Pineapples are large fruits with waxy skin that is covered in soft spikes. Unripe pineapples will have a more greenish color and as they ripen, they will transition to a yellow/orange-red color. The inside flesh is sweet and slightly acidic. The flesh itself is soft; however, the edible core is firm.

Nutrition:

Pineapples are a good source of fiber and Vitamin C. They also contain calcium, iron, and the core acts as an anti-inflammatory as it contains antioxidants.

Storage:

Whole ripe Pineapples should be placed uncovered in the refrigerator to avoid the fruit from spoiling. Store cut Pineapple in an airtight container in the fridge to keep cool.
